An alternative education program that engages at risk youth is seeing tremendous success in the Trail area.
The Take A Hike Foundation saw 100% of its students graduate in 2014-2015.
Program CEO Matthew Coyne believes combining academics with adventure based learning, therapy, and community engagement is a rewarding model.
The Trail program is one of three operating in B.C. and has been running for two years now.
It partners with School District 20 and is based out of the Kootenay Columbia Learning Centre.
