Water consumption in Nelson has decreased by approximately 30% since the beginning of July.
The City is thanking residents for following water restrictions that began last month.
Colin Innes with Public Works says they are currently under strict level three conservation which means residents are only allowed to use sprinklers one day a week and not during peak daily temperatures.
Water usage in Nelson has dropped 20,000 mega-litres since it peaked July 3rd.
Innes says current restrictions will most likely stay in place for the remainder of the summer.
