Olympian's visit to have lasting impact

Local organizers of Clara Hughes’ visit to Nelson this month hope it’s more than just a one-day event.

Doctor Todd Kettner says the Olympian’ s stop on May 24th is intended to help end the stigma around mental illness.

And all funds raised through a talk she’s giving will go to a new Osprey Foundation fund for mental wellness.

Hughes is cycling across the country and visiting nearly 100 communities along the way.

In Nelson she will participate in a parade and speak at the Prestige Resort.
