Still no government consultation or action regarding widespread public concerns around changes to the Agricultural Land Reserve.
This from Nelson’s Abra Brynne with the B.C Food Systems Network .
The Minister says after reviewing thousands of letters and speaking with the Agricultural Land Commission and B.C Agriculture Council he’s making amendments.
These will include an additional step of oversight on contentious development proposals.
But Brynne says that’s window dressing and everyone in the agricultural sector should be consulted.
Zone 2 ALR land- which includes the Kootenays – will be opened to certain development.
