Grand Forks arsonist back in court next month

The man who burned down the Grand Forks Hotel and badly damaged the Winnipeg Hotel over two years ago will be back in court next month.

That’s when a date will be set for sentencing.

Christopher Cusack was found guilty of both arsons last week.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Jim Harrsion can now say Cusack was arrested within two hours of the fires being reported the night of March 7th 2012.

Cusack had left a note suggesting he would burn down one of the hotels and police found evidence of flammables at his property.

The Grand Forks Hotel was demolished and the Winnipeg re-built as a liquor store.
