New Cultural Ambassador selected for Nelson

Congratulations to Nelson’s newest Cultural Ambassador.

Ian Johnston has been chosen in the field of Visual Arts.

He will carry the special designation as he travels the world with his works, although he’s been promoting the Queen City for years.

Johnston has had a varied career in Nelson including as a teacher at the Kootenay School Of The Arts and he ran a ceramics studio.

His most recent projects include large installations in which he focuses on the obsession of consumerism and his pieces have been exhibited across North America, Europe and China.
