Nelson Hydro could build a slightly bigger solar array than first planned.
This with the news that 210 panels had been bought by the community as of Friday, far surpassing the 150 minimum needed to get a 50-kilowatt plant underway.
They could go as big as 60-kilowatt if they sell 240 panels, the maximumthat could fit on the selected Bonnington site.
The city’s Eco Save Coordinator Carmen Proctor says this project has captured the public’s imagination and ideals, and there has been widespread attention from across BC.
Proctor says if people miss out on investing in this initial project at Bonnington there will likely be other opportunities in the city as they learn more in future.
