Nelson’s Granite Pointe golf course – which is run as a non-profit society- is trying a new idea this year to boost tourist visitation.
Barry Auliffe is on the club’s board of directors and says they’ve entered an arrangement with local hoteliers who will offer one free round per booking.
Auliffe says Granite Pointe will always be member-driven but historically they have not tapped into the potential spin-off income from tourists.
