Recent warm temperatures and rainfall means rivers surrounding Grand Forks are flowing strong – but the High Streamflow Advisory issued late last week has now been lifted.
Snow melt across the province has been happening a month early and there is potential for localized flooding.
While there is no major cause for concern, David McAllister from Fortis BC says resident’s safety is the priority.
McAllister says all homeowners close to the rivers should have a flood evacuation plan in case of an emergency.
The Kettle and Granby rivers were on High Flow Advisory from Friday but the water levels have come back down.
