The ambitious Nelson Commons downtown residential development is selling with hopes of a late summer start.
After a quiet winter, the Vernon Street project- driven by the Kootenay Co-op – has seen increased interest.
Project Manager Russell Precious says they’ve re-worked their debt financing to reduce the minimum pre-sales needed to get the 54-unit complex going.
He admits buyers putting down a deposit are having to show a lot of trust.
Precious says they have around 26 sales and require only half a dozen more to get shovels in the ground.
At this stage completion of the $27-million venture is now set for March 2016.
