If Kaslo can host a top international outdoor music festival, why can’t it do the same with an animation summit?
The question is being asked by Kaslo Institute founder Randy Morse as the village will host the 8th Biennial BC Rural Communities Network Summit.
The event features Oscar winning animator John Kahrs who has worked on blockbusters such as The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., and Frozen.
Morse says when lining up Kahrs, he pitched the idea of Kaslo becoming a world centre for communication technologies.
The idea is a goal for 2015.
The Rural Communities summit will see Kahrs do a presentation on June 14 about youth getting involved in animation for living.
