Province seeks Japanese-Canadian historic sites

An author says lots of local Japanese-Canadian historical sites deserve official recognition.

The province is calling for nominations of such sites to be added to the BC Register of Historic Places.

And Chuck Tasaka says he can point to many around here that are internment-era legacies.

The Langham and Nikkei Centre are already on the national register of historic places.

But Tasaka says Greenwood — where he was raised — could be included as a whole.
