Pavement should draw people, rail trail group says

Paving a stretch of the Slocan Valley Heritage Rail Trail should open it up to new uses and new users.

This according to director Craig Lawrence about the four kilometers between South Slocan and Crescent Valley.

That includes rollerblading and skateboarding on top of hiking, cycling, and skiing.

It’s part of what’s been dubbed the Slocan Community Recreational Greenway Project.

Other components include a pedestrian tunnel at South Slocan and improvements at Crescent Valley beach.
