Castlegar's climate change efforts recognized nationally

The City of Castlegar’s efforts to deal with climate change have been showcased on a national stage.

Lawrence Chernoff was one of two mayors from all of Canada who were part of a panel discussing the topic at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in Niagara Falls last week.

Chernoff says even for a smaller community Castlegar is a lot more progressive than other Cities in the country.

Chernoff adds the creation of a storm sewer plan after the 2012 high water events is another example of their efforts.

He says during the panel he wanted to illustrate that smaller communities in Canada can make a difference.
