Our two local interior Districts are moving 9-1-1 call response to a new service…that is much further away.
Starting November 18th – calls placed from a total of nine interior Regional Districts will be answered through E-Comm.
RDKB CAO John MacLean says changes will not make a difference to response times and E-Comm has an excellent track record.
The move is estimated to save about $2.1 million proportionately for the nine Regional District partners.
Currently ambulance service calls are dispatched out of Kamloops, fire calls are sent to Trail and police in Kelowna.
