Trail needs the annual Bull-A-Rama rodeo because the city doesn’t have many other events.
That was the argument put forward by city councillor Eleanor Gattafoni-Robinson despite the fact the cowboy-themed affair has leaked at least $90,000 in the last seven years.
Gattafoni-Robinson says the event is important to the community, but we asked why the city doesn’t try something new?
Sponsorship was down over $5,000 this year compared to last.
The city is recommending an independent promoter take over the event or it be cancelled. Council agreed to give the organizing committee another month to come up with a feasible way to run it.
