The members and stakeholders of Castlegar’s Kootenay Gallery of Art and History have spoken – they want to move.
Board chair Audrey Maxwell Polovnikoff says they conducted a number of surveys about the current location and possibility of a new one and a large majority responded in favor of relocation.
She says the project manager will meet with interest groups and discuss what they would like to see in a possible new gallery.
She adds they feel their current location across from the West Kootenay Regional Airport is tucked away and a new facility in a place like the downtown would benefit from foot traffic.
