One of the 16 candidates for council joined the race because she loves the type of community Grand Forks is and wants a more prominent role.
Cathy Korolek says she has no personal agenda.
She has lived in the city for 11 years and runs Heart and Sole quilts.
She says the community is so tightly knit it’s easy to know what residents want and its just a great place to live.
