Trail City Council continues to assure the public they’ve done their due diligence when it comes to the Old Bridge over the Columbia River.
The City has released a detailed report this week despite 79% of the electorate already supporting the construction of a new pedestrian sewer pipe crossing through a referendum over two months ago.
CAO David Perehudoff says council feels it is important to set the record straight because one resident is still questioning the move publicly.
Norm Gabana lead a petition to force the Pedestrian Sewer Pipe Bridge to an August vote.
He feels money is being wasted on a new structure when the old crossing can be restored.
Trail will pay $5 million for the bridge using future Gas Tax revenue and another $2.6 million in its regional sewer cost share.
