Trail RCMP officers are seeking any witnesses or information regarding a road rage incident on Saturday that left a 51-year-old man with a serious head injury.
The detachment reports that the incident occurred at 10:25 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, with officers responding to reports of the incident on Highway 3B.
A 51-year-old Trail man was driving his vehicle eastbound on Highway 3B when he observed a silver/champagne-coloured Subaru Forester/Outback driving erratically. He alleged that he was cut off by the Subaru and decided to follow the vehicle to try to obtain the licence plate number.
The driver of the Subaru then pulled over to the side of the road near the intersection of Highway 3B and Marcolin Drive. When the 51-year-old man also pulled over and exited his vehicle, he was approached by the other driver, a man, and his wife, who was recording the incident on her phone.
The complainant then allegedly pushed the woman’s phone out of his way and was subsequently pushed over by her husband, causing him to fall backwards and hit his head.
The injured driver then went to the Trail RCMP Detachment to report the incident. Officers assessed his injury and contacted EHS, who attended and transported him to hospital as he required medical treatment for his injuries.
The matter remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information is urged to contact the Trail Detachment at 250-364-2566 to speak to an investigator.
