Kootenay air cadets have boosted their skills following a weekend of challenging activities in Vernon over the weekend.
Across the Kootenays 115 cadets attended the event, with 24 cadets from Trail, 24 cadets from 561 Osprey Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron (RCACS) in Nelson, 10 cadets from 581 Castlegar RCACS and 5 cadets from 81 Hampton Grey Royal Canadian Sea Cadets (RCSCC) in Nelson.
Cadets has the opportunity to advance their leadership training, marksmanship, complete a confidence course, abseil, and tour a CH-149 Cormorant helicopter from RCAF 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron in Comox.
Trail’s air cadet squadron meets every Wednesday evening in Kemball Armoury at 1900 7th Ave from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
There are also activities on select weekends throughout the year.

Cadets are between the ages of 12 and 18.
