Teck Resources has been named one of Forbes 2024 World’s Top Companies for Women, ranking number 60 out of 400 companies worldwide.
The list is an employee-driven ranking of multinational corporations from 37 different countries. Companies were chosen based on independent, anonymous surveys of approximately 100,000 women.
Participants were asked a variety of questions, including whether they would recommend their employer to friends or family.
They were also asked to rate the corporation on both general workplace practices and gender-specific issues, including gender pay equity, the management of employee discrimination cases, and whether men and women have the same opportunities for advancement.
Teck Resources Chief Inclusion Officer Jackie Scales says it is an honour to be recognized as an equitable employer on a global scale, adding that the company has worked hard to create an inclusive and respectful workplace for all employees.
“We are very proud that Teck is a place where women feel supported and where they can thrive. It speaks to all of our employees living our values and doing their part in creating a respectful and inclusive workplace, which we strive for,” she said.
“We have values that speak to safety, psychological safety, inclusion, and respect, and in everything we do, we talk about how we can live those values and make our workplace a place where all of our employees can thrive.”
Teck was also named to the Forbes World’s Best Employers 2024 list earlier this month and recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers by Mediacorp Canada’s Top Employers program for the past seven years.
