Trail man Jason Mulder has been awarded a certificate of appreciation for his involvement in capturing a local offender in June last year.
On Wednesday, June 12, a man was fleeing police in downtown Trail when Mulder tripped the fleeing suspect, grabbing him and holding him down until officers could catch up.
The man was taken into custody without further incident.
Last week Mulder was recognized for his effort.
“It is rare that a citizen puts themselves in jeopardy and steps in to help an officer arrest an individual. We appreciate Jason’s quick actions, help, and bravery in this dynamic situation. The certificate is well earned and deserved. His family and community are very proud of him.” said Sgt Mike Wicentowich.
