Two new record high temperatures have been established in the West Kootenay this week and another may fall today.
It hit 27.9 degrees on Wednesday and 30.3 yesterday in Castlegar, breaking old marks set in 1985.
Southeast Fire Centre forecaster Ron Lakeman says there’s no question it’s unusually dry.
Lakeman says the weekend is expected to be mostly sunny with rain possibly arriving Monday afternoon.
