New Trail bridge goes to tender

A detailed timeline for Trail’s $9.8 million pedestrian pipe bridge is starting to take shape.

The city has announced they’ve put the project out to tender.

That includes a comprehensive one thousand page package with details about the structure that will cross the Columbia River.

Events and Communications Coordinator Andrea Jolly says they’ll accept bids until July 7th with the successful contractor required to start at the end of the summer.

The RDKB is to cover $4.2 million of the cost for the bridge’s regional sewer interceptor line.

Trail’s portion will include an 11.8 ft wide composite concrete deck to accommodate pedestrians, cyclists and a four-track emergency vehicle if required.
