Mxiɬp Xewílh (Cedar Trail) Grand Opening Event

Join the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society for an exciting adventure on July 14th from Strawberry Pass to BlackJack Ski Club. This event is a celebration of nature, community, and the joy of riding. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a beginner, this trail offers breathtaking views and a chance to connect with the beauty of the land.

Envisioned more than 15 years ago by community members, the Mxiɬp Xewílh (Cedar Trail) has been a three year construction project for the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society(KCTS), a 17km relatively wide and smooth beginner mountain bike trail connecting between Strawberry Pass(start of the Seven Summits trail) and Blackjack Ski Club, via the newly widened and surfaced Aquaduct and Adventure Trails.

The Plan for the day includes :

9:30-10:30am – Kootenay Gateway Shuttles. Reserve your shuttle at the link above!

11am – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

11:30am – 3pm – Group Ride and Trail Side Trivia

12pm – 2:30pm – Chocolate Fondue at the Biathlon Parking Lot

3pm – BBQ and Cake at the Blackjack Parking Lot
